What you're actually paying for

Dov shoots photography the same way he directs film - paying attention to light, composition, and the story sitting inside an ordinary moment. Every shoot is personally handled by Dov, whether it is a couple's engagement session, a brand shoot, or a set of real estate photos that need to do more than document a space.

This page covers the services, the process, and why Dov approaches photography the way he does. For finished work, the photo portfolio is where to look.

Why Photography Still Matters

Anyone with a phone can take a picture. Not everyone can make one that holds up - that still says something a year later, or makes a stranger stop scrolling. The difference is rarely the camera. It is attention: to light, to timing, to the small detail that turns a photo from a record of something into a piece of something. That is the gap professional photography closes, and it is why a real photograph still outperforms a phone snapshot every time it matters.

The part that never gets old

Travel and urban photography sample from Dov Gurewicz's portfolio
It started in 2016 on regular trips between Chicago and Miami - the same city, over and over, but never quite the same light. Watching how the sun changed a familiar skyline from one visit to the next is where it began: noticing that photography isn't about a special location, it's about paying attention to how light actually behaves.
A trip to San Francisco a year later made it permanent. Dov picked up a Canon Rebel T6i off Craigslist and started shooting everything - birds, skylines, construction sites, strangers on the street. His first paid gig, a $100 event shoot, came back to a client who hated every photo. Instead of quitting, that setback is what pushed him to get better.
A demo of a DJI Mavic Pro at an Apple Store on Lincoln Road turned into a full obsession with aerial photography soon after. A baby-moon trip to Oia, Santorini added a new appreciation for how light works on a completely different landscape. Somewhere between Chicago winters and Hollywood, Florida sunsets, photography stopped being a hobby and became the way Dov sees everything.

How the good ones actually happen

Light First

Every shoot starts with reading the light on location, not forcing a preset look onto whatever is in front of the camera.
Capturing elegant wedding ceremony moments

Story Over Snapshot

A photo should hold a moment, not just record one. Composition and timing get the same attention as a film frame.

Ground and Air

Aerial photography sits alongside standard shooting for projects where a wider vantage point tells the story better.

One Photographer, Full Ownership

Dov personally directs and shoots every project, so the vision discussed at booking is the same one behind the camera on shoot day.

Who this tends to be for

Seven kinds of projects Dov shoots regularly – each linking back to real examples in the photo portfolio.

Weddings & Couples

A wedding day moves fast and only happens once. Engagement sessions get the same attention as the ceremony itself - real moments, not stiff poses, shot the way Dov shoots everything: for the light, not just the checklist.

Portraits & Lifestyle

Headshots, personal portraits, and lifestyle sessions built around how someone actually wants to be seen - professional enough for a website, natural enough to still feel like them.

Business & Real Estate

Product photography, listing photos, and brand imagery that has to do more than document what is there - it has to make a space or a product feel like something worth a second look.

Events

Corporate events, parties, and gatherings shot to capture the actual energy in the room, not just a wide shot of the room itself. For multi-camera film of an event, see event coverage.

What Clients Ask Before Their Shoot

Do you only shoot in South Florida?

Hollywood, Miami, and Fort Lauderdale are home base, but Dov travels for the right project – his photography has taken him across 20+ countries and 40+ states.

What kinds of photography do you shoot?

Weddings, portraits, events, real estate, products, food, travel, and aerial – see the full range in the photo portfolio.

Do you offer drone or aerial photography?

Yes. Aerial photography has been part of the work since Dov bought his first drone, and it is available for real estate, events, and travel projects where the shot calls for it.

How involved is Dov personally?

Every shoot is personally directed and shot by Dov, sometimes alongside a trusted photographer or assistant when a project calls for a larger team.

How is this different from booking a portfolio session?

The photo portfolio is where finished work lives. This page is where a project actually starts – the conversation about what a shoot needs, the pricing, and what working with Dov looks like day of.

Can I book photography and video together?

Yes – many clients book both, since Dov shoots and directs each personally. It often means one shoot day covers what would otherwise take two separate bookings.

Can you work with my budget?

Two ways. I shoot it myself, which is the one that cannot be in two places at once, so there are only so many of those a year. Or my crew shoots it and I direct it: you still talk to me, the direction is still mine, and the edit comes back through me before it reaches you. The shooters come from an extended network I have built up over the years, locally and around the world. Tell me the budget in the first message and I will tell you straight which one fits.
