An Engagement Photographer’s Session at Dania Beach Pier: Yosef & Rivki
As an engagement photographer working across Dania Beach and the rest of South Florida, one of my favorite things is the incredible variety of locations we have to work with. Whether you’re envisioning a romantic beach session, a lush botanical garden, a quiet nature preserve, or an urban downtown backdrop, Florida offers no shortage of beautiful places to tell your story. From the beaches of Hollywood and Dania to hidden parks and gardens throughout South Florida, there are countless beautiful settings for engagement and couples photography.
When Yosef and Rivki reached out about their engagement photos, they wanted something timeless, romantic, and naturally beautiful. They asked where I thought we should go.
My answer was easy.
Sunset at Dania Beach Pier.
It’s one of my favorite locations in South Florida because every few minutes the scenery changes. You have the bridge leading into the beach, the palm trees, the fishing pier, the lifeguard towers, soft sand, rolling waves, and some of the most beautiful sunsets you’ll find anywhere in Florida.
We planned the session around golden hour and met on the bridge crossing the Intracoastal just before the entrance to Dania Beach. Before we even stepped onto the sand, we stopped to capture a few quiet moments together. The bridge offered a beautiful backdrop, and we photographed them embracing, laughing, and sharing a kiss as the golden light reflected off the water below. It was the perfect way to begin the evening.
From there we made our way onto the beach.
As the light softened, we photographed them walking hand in hand along the shoreline, sharing quiet moments beneath the pier, laughing near the colorful lifeguard tower, and simply enjoying being together. One of the things I love most about sunset sessions is watching the sky evolve throughout the evening. Warm golden light slowly gives way to soft pinks, purples, and deep blues, creating an entirely different mood every fifteen minutes.
Rather than constantly posing them, I like to create an environment where couples can simply enjoy each other’s company while I document those genuine interactions. The result is a gallery that feels relaxed, romantic, and authentic—photographs that reflect who they are rather than just how they posed.
As the last light disappeared from the sky, we decided to make one final stop before calling it a night.
Yosef and Rivki wanted to finish the session somewhere that meant something to them, so we headed over to one of their favorite spots—Pita Plus. Standing in front of the glowing neon sign, we captured a few final portraits that felt completely different from the beach. The colorful lights gave the photos a fun, urban feel and added a personal touch to the gallery. It was the perfect way to end the evening, not just with beautiful photographs, but with a place that was already part of their story together.
They left happy, I left happy, and all in all, it was a fantastic session.
Today, whenever I see Yosef and Rivki, I’m reminded of that beautiful evening at Dania Beach. They’ve since built a wonderful family together and are now the proud parents of a little boy and two gorgeous twin girls. Moments like these are one of the reasons I love what I do. Sometimes I’m not just documenting a photo session—I’m preserving the beginning of a family’s story.
If you’re looking for an engagement photographer in South Florida, I’d love to help you choose the perfect location and create photographs that feel natural, timeless, and uniquely yours. Whether it’s a beach at sunset, a botanical garden, a nature preserve, or a place that’s meaningful to your relationship, we’ll create something beautiful together.
