A music video is often the first real impression an artist makes beyond the audio. The right one gives a song context, makes a performance feel bigger than a phone screen, and gives fans something worth sharing. The wrong one just sits there. The difference is almost always in the direction, not the equipment.

Why Dov Directs Music Videos Differently

Dov is not just a director who films music videos - he is a singer-songwriter and musician himself, writing and producing his own music under the project KAVANA. He plays guitar and piano, and has spent years in the studio and on stage learning what a song actually needs to land.
That background changes how he directs. He hears a track the way the artist does - where it breathes, where it hits, where a visual would get in the way instead of helping. It is the difference between a director interpreting a song and one who has written and released his own.

Discover

It starts with the song. Dov listens a few times and lets the vibe settle before a single idea gets pinned down - then it becomes a conversation: what the artist already hears for it, or what comes to mind as the track plays.

Concept

A visual direction, performance, narrative, or a mix, built around the record.

Production

Shot days planned around the concept, whether that is a studio session or a location shoot.

Editing

Cut to the pacing of the song, with color and finishing that match the mood of the record.

Delivery

A final video built for the platforms it is actually going to live on.

What Artists Ask First

Do you write the concept, or does the artist come with one?

Either. Some artists arrive with a clear vision, others just have the song and a feeling. Both starting points work, the concept gets built together either way.

Do you handle performance videos and narrative videos differently?

Yes. A performance video is built around capturing the artist and the energy of a session. A narrative video is built around a concept that runs alongside the song. Many videos blend both.

What about color grading and post-production?

Every video gets a full edit and color pass, the goal is for the finished video to feel as intentional as the track itself.

Do you shoot drone footage?

When the concept calls for it. Aerial shots work well for certain locations and narrative videos, not every project needs one.

Can you work with my budget?

Two ways. I shoot it myself, which is the one that cannot be in two places at once, so there are only so many of those a year. Or my crew shoots it and I direct it: you still talk to me, the direction is still mine, and the edit comes back through me before it reaches you. The shooters come from an extended network I have built up over the years, locally and around the world. Tell me the budget in the first message and I will tell you straight which one fits.
