Event Coverage
Galas, concerts, fundraisers and milestones. The night happens once. Either it was filmed properly or it was not, and there is no second attempt.
I have covered the Chabad of South Beach gala, the Chabad Russian Center gala, the Youngstar Showcase for the Aventura Marketing Council, Nissim and Kosha Dillz in concert, Chanukah events, and bar and bat mitzvahs across South Florida.
Fundraising films have a deadline inside the evening
Several of the pieces below were cut to play in the room while people were still deciding whether to give. That changes everything about how you shoot: you are gathering the film in the afternoon and the early part of the night, cutting it on site, and delivering before the ask. It is a different job to a recap that lands a week later, and it is worth saying out loud at the planning stage which one you want.
One shooter or a crew
A single well-placed camera covers a speech. It does not cover a speech, the room reacting, and the moment on the door at the same time. For anything with a programme — awards, a concert, a multi-part evening — more than one angle is the difference between a record and a film.
Event coverage starts at $1,500, with travel and expenses quoted separately.
