Promotional Films
Promotional films for businesses, schools and nonprofits — the piece that explains what you do to somebody with thirty seconds and no patience for a brochure.
Recent ones include the Town of Golden Beach, Sea Rocket, Friendship Circle, Puah, Awakening Retreat and Yeshiva Ohr Shalom. Some run two minutes on a homepage, some run forty seconds and live entirely on social.
The mistake most promos make
They explain the organisation instead of showing the thing it does. Nobody watches a promo to learn your history. They watch to work out, quickly, whether this is for them. So the film has to open on something real — a room, a face, a moment of the work happening — and earn the explanation afterwards.
How these usually start
With a conversation, not a shot list. Fifteen minutes on who this is aimed at and what you need them to do next is worth more than a page of specification. From there I build a plan around the days you can actually give me and the light that will exist on those days.
Most of the films below started exactly that way. Here is how a project runs.
