A Legacy Film is a cinematic documentary, typically 20–60 minutes, capturing the life, memories, and wisdom of a person or family. It is not a home video. It is not an interview. It is a film.
Most families wait too long. They mean to sit down and record the conversation. Then a birthday passes, then a diagnosis, then it's gone. A Legacy Film exists so that conversation actually happens, on camera, while there's still time to have it.
Every session starts the same way: no script, no rehearsal, no list of talking points handed over in advance. Just a real conversation about a life: the people, the decisions, the version of events only one person remembers. I bring the same documentary approach and production standards I use on Elopements and Brand Films to every Legacy Film: full crew, proper lighting, and sound that holds up.
Sessions typically run 60 to 90 minutes, in a living room, a backyard, at a family gathering, wherever feels most comfortable, or in my Davie studio if that's easier to schedule around. It's the same instinct behind organizations like StoryCorps, which has spent decades recording unscripted family conversations for the same reason: a real story, told in someone's own words, holds up in a way a scripted interview never does.
Editing takes the raw conversation and shapes it into something watchable: chapters, pacing, music, and a structure that respects the story instead of rushing it. Every project also includes the full raw interview footage, archived for the family, separate from the finished film, so nothing gets lost even decades from now.

How long does the process take?
The session itself typically runs 60 to 90 minutes. From there, editing takes a few weeks depending on the package. I'll give you a specific timeline once we lock in scope.
Can you work with my budget?
Two ways. I shoot it myself, which is the one that cannot be in two places at once, so there are only so many of those a year. Or my crew shoots it and I direct it: you still talk to me, the direction is still mine, and the edit comes back through me before it reaches you. The shooters come from an extended network I have built up over the years, locally and around the world. Tell me the budget in the first message and I will tell you straight which one fits.
