Events

The moment happens once. Make sure you capture it.

Photography and film for celebrations, milestones and live events — from a single shooter to a full production crew.

Event films

Highlight films that carry the energy, the speeches and the story of the night — cut for the room it was made for.

Some events need coverage. Some need a film.

Most event coverage documents the night. A gala is a different problem. The film runs before the ask, to people who already know the story and are standing inside the result, and it still has to move them.

I have made those films. One played to a Sunny Isles community on the evening they closed the gap on a building two decades in the making. Another was made for a Miami school that screens its films at the annual dinner, to an audience largely made up of the families in them.

Neither of those is event coverage. They are promotional films, made to be screened — and then I covered the nights they played on. Both jobs exist, and they are not the same job.

The practical reason is continuity. Whoever cuts the film has already met the people in it, knows which line the room reacted to, and can shoot the night knowing what it has to sit alongside. Split that across two vendors and you lose the part that makes it land. Read how the gala film came together, or the ongoing work for the school.

One event. The right-sized crew.

Sometimes that is me and a camera. Sometimes it is three videographers, two photographers, audio and lighting. I build the coverage around what the event actually needs.

What does not change is who is accountable. I direct and deliver every job, whatever the size of the crew on the day.

Single shooter

For smaller or more intimate events where simple, beautiful coverage is all that’s needed.

Multi-shooter crew

Multiple photographers and filmmakers when the event needs more angles, simultaneous coverage and a larger production footprint.

Extended network

A growing network of trusted shooters lets me build teams throughout South Florida, and coordinate coverage in other markets when needed.

You don’t have to manage the cameras.

Tell me what’s happening and what matters most. I’ll work out the coverage, assemble the right team when one is needed, and make sure everybody knows where they have to be.

Events I cover

Galas & dinners

Fundraising evenings where the film is part of the ask.

B’nai mitzvah

A milestone shot to be watched again in ten years.

Community & holiday

Nights that belong to a whole congregation or town.

Live performance

Concerts and stage work, covered without getting in the way.

Corporate & civic

Showcases, anniversaries and annual meetings.

Nonprofit & institutional

Benefit evenings and the films that run inside them.

Panels & podcasts

Recorded conversations with a live audience in the room.

These are the categories with work behind them. If yours is not listed, ask — it is usually the same job.

The moments between the moments

Stills are a separate discipline at an event, not a by-product of the video. Someone has to be watching the room rather than the schedule — the pause before a speech lands, the person at the back who came anyway, the hand on a shoulder that nobody staged.

If you are reacting to moments you are already late, because the frame worth having sits about one second before the thing everybody notices.

In practice it means agreeing beforehand what the pictures are for. A sponsorship deck, a board report and a donation page each want a different set, and knowing which decides where I stand before the doors open.

Built around your event

  1. Tell me what you’re planning. Type, date, location, guest count, run of show, and what matters most.
  2. I build the right coverage. One shooter, or photographers and videographers across multiple rooms, with audio and lighting as needed.
  3. We shoot it. Arriving with a plan, and staying loose enough for the part nobody scheduled.
  4. You get the work. Edited stills, a highlight film, social cuts, or full-length coverage.

South Florida, and where the event is

Most of this work happens between Miami and Palm Beach — Miami Beach, Aventura, Hollywood, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton and Jupiter among them. When an event sits outside that, the same network makes it straightforward to staff properly rather than fly a whole crew out. Where I work.

What it costs

Event coverage starts at $1,500 and scales with the size of the crew and the length of the day. Tell me what you’re planning and I’ll tell you what it actually needs.

“We used Dov to film our Walk for the Animals fundraiser video. This was the first time we worked with them and they were amazing! The videographer was on time, professional and captured exactly what we wanted!”
