Chaminade Madonna

Chaminade-Madonna College Preparatory is a private Marianist school located in Hollywood, Florida, covering high school and college preparatory curricula. I had the privilege of capturing the vibrant spirit and unwavering dedication that define this esteemed institution, renowned for its commitment to academic excellence and holistic development.

I worked closely with head of school Dr. Muchek and her team to capture as much of the school as possible with the time we had. Throughout the shoot, I immersed myself in the school’s lively atmosphere, documenting moments that reflect its core values of responsibility, respect, and resilience, from interactive classroom settings to spirited athletic events.

Filmed primarily on the Sony FX3 with a 24-70mm f2.8 GM II, and a Sony A7 IV with a 70-200mm GM II for tighter shots, alongside DJI drones. Edited in Adobe Premiere.

This project was about weaving together narratives that highlight the essence of Chaminade-Madonna: portraying the authentic experiences of students and faculty, and celebrating a community dedicated to making a positive impact.

They came to me for a couple of days of b-roll. It turned into something bigger. Once I was on campus I started shooting reviews as well, and we ended up assembling a full film that tells the school’s story rather than delivering a package of cutaways.

The setup genuinely impressed me. The facilities are excellent, the staff are excellent, and the students are learning at a high level. I found myself wishing I’d had that kind of schooling when I was young. There are a lot of opportunities in front of these kids, and that was the thing worth putting on screen.

The shoot ran efficiently because the staff made it run efficiently. Muchek and her assistant Jamila were warm and welcoming, walked me through the school, and made sure I had access to everything I needed. We got it all done at a high standard. The campus is stunning, which made the visual side straightforward: most of the job was staying out of the way of what was already there.
