Yeshiva Ohr Shalom — Fundraising Narrative Film

When Yeshiva Ohr Shalom approached us to create the centerpiece of their fundraising campaign, we knew a traditional promotional video wouldn’t be enough.

Instead, we developed a cinematic short film following the journey of a struggling teen searching for identity, belonging, and purpose. Through scripted storytelling, emotional performances, and carefully crafted visuals, the film demonstrates the transformative impact of mentorship, community, and showing up for someone at the right moment.

The production combined narrative filmmaking, nighttime cinematography, location shooting, professional lighting, and a dedicated crew to create a piece that felt authentic, emotional, and impactful while remaining grounded in the organization’s mission.

This project is a great example of how storytelling can move beyond simply explaining what an organization does—and instead help audiences feel why it matters.

Additional Info

The challenge was creating a piece that felt authentic without becoming preachy, emotional without becoming manipulative, and hopeful without ignoring the complexity of the struggles many teens face. Every scene was carefully designed to serve that balance—from the opening family conflict, to the gym and mentorship sequences, to the intimate bonfire conversation that became the emotional centerpiece of the film.

Production involved multiple locations, narrative actors, nighttime cinematography, scripted dialogue, practical firelight, and a collaborative effort between a dedicated crew committed to bringing the story to life with honesty and cinematic quality. Particular attention was given to creating characters who felt human and relatable, avoiding simplistic heroes or villains and instead focusing on the power of connection, presence, and guidance.

Created as the centerpiece of Yeshiva Ohr Shalom’s fundraising campaign, the film seeks to help donors understand not only what the organization does, but why it matters. At its core, this is a story about showing up for someone when they need it most—and the ripple effect that can have for years to come.
