A Secret Proposal at Vizcaya

Dor reached out with two requests and one secret. He wanted a beautiful couple session at Vizcaya with Bex. He also wanted to propose in the middle of it, and she couldn’t know about either half.
So I got there early and hid.
When she walked up, I came out with cameras already rolling. There’s no second take on a moment like that. No direction, no reset, nobody asking anyone to do it again. You either have it or you spend the rest of your life explaining that you don’t.
We had it.
Then the day opened up. We spent the afternoon moving through the gardens — the coral archways, the light coming off the water, the long green corridors that make Vizcaya one of the most photographed places in Miami and one of the hardest to shoot without it looking like everybody else’s photos.
She said yes at the start of the afternoon. By the end of it they had a highlight film and a portfolio of images from every corner of the property.

Not long after, they called back to book their wedding.

The final delivery was two things at once. A highlight film built around the moment she said yes, and a full photography portfolio of the two of them across the whole property — the archways, the water, the gardens. Most proposal coverage gives you the moment and a handful of frames afterward. This gave them the moment and the afternoon.
The proof that it worked came later. Bex and Dor came back to book their wedding, and I brought my team to shoot it. Watch the wedding film →
