A Vizcaya Proposal That Became a Wedding: Bex & Dor’s Story
The challenge
Dor came to me with two requests and one secret. He wanted a beautiful couple session with Bex at Vizcaya. He also wanted to propose in the middle of it — and she couldn’t know about either half. That meant building a session that looked, from her side, like an ordinary photo shoot, while staying ready to capture a proposal the moment it happened, with zero warning and zero do-overs.
The approach
I got there early and hid. When she walked up, I came out with cameras already rolling. There’s no second take on a moment like that — no direction, no reset, nobody asking anyone to do it again. The film around it came together afterward, built from what the day actually gave us. You either have it, or you spend the rest of your life explaining that you don’t. We had it.
Then the day opened up. We spent the afternoon moving through Vizcaya’s gardens — the coral archways, the light coming off the water, the long green corridors that make it one of the most photographed places in Miami, and one of the hardest to shoot without it looking like everybody else’s photos.
The result
She said yes at the start of the afternoon. By the end of it, they had a highlight film and a full photography portfolio from every corner of the property — the moment itself, plus everything that happened after it.

Working with Dov was seriously such a pleasure. He made sure to guide us through the entire experience making sure that are pictures came out perfect.
