Video Portfolio
Telling stories is the part I actually care about. The gear, the lighting, the edit — that’s just how you get there.
Some of this work documents something that won’t happen twice. Some of it helps a school, a nonprofit, or a business explain itself to the people it’s trying to reach. The job doesn’t really change: pay attention, get it right, and hand back something worth keeping.
Nobody actually wants a video
A school does not call me because it wants a video. Neither does a nonprofit or a dental practice. They want the enrollment form filled out. They want the donor to give a second time. They want the patient to stop putting off the appointment. The film is the thing I build. The outcome is the thing being bought.
Most of that work is for organizations that have to be believed before they can be chosen. Schools. Nonprofits. Medical and dental practices, attorneys, restaurants and hotels, real estate, professional services, and brands that need to sound like themselves on camera. Different rooms, same problem: someone has to trust you before they ever meet you.
How a film gets made
The shoot is the least difficult part. Cameras are solved. Lights are solved. What is not solved is getting a principal, a surgeon, or a chef, people who are not actors and who are being watched by their own staff, to say one true sentence out loud.
So the work starts before anyone shows up. A conversation about what has to change, who is going to watch this, and what you want them to do next. Out of that comes a plan: who speaks, what gets shown, what order it lands in. Then the filming. Then the edit, which is where the film actually gets written. Most of what gets shot does not survive. Choosing what to cut is the job.
How to use this page
Pick a category that has nothing to do with your business and watch one film all the way to the end. If a film about somebody else's work holds you when you have no reason to care, that tells you most of what you need to know about what it does for the people who do care.
That is the honest test. The rest is logistics. Dates, locations, and how many people have to be comfortable on camera.
