Shaina & Levi’s Wedding at Chabad of Parkland

Some projects feel extra meaningful, and Shaina & Levi’s wedding was one of them. I was hired by Shaina’s father, Shmully Rothman, a dear friend I’ve known for many years. In fact, our connection goes all the way back about 17 years, when I was a counselor for him at Gan Israel camp in Squirrel Hill, Pittsburgh. Later, life brought us back together in Chicago, where he attended my shul, Beis Menachem, for years. Over time we built a warm, jovial relationship — the kind of friendship that picks up right where it left off.

To be asked to film his daughter’s wedding at Chabad of Parkland, under the leadership of my own Rabbi Biston, was a true honor and personally very touching. Capturing Shaina & Levi’s day wasn’t just about documenting a beautiful celebration — it was about weaving together years of connection, community, and shared history into a film that will preserve these memories for generations.
